Playing "God"

How shallow and arrogant we are. We are the children and the siblings. The cousins and the allies. Yet we want to be the masters. We want to be superior. Simply put, the God Complex. We want to feel unopposed, as though we are in control of ourselves and others around us.

Yet, to truly rise above those who would hold us down and smother us, we must first realize that we are at not Gods. We control nothing, we know nothing, and we are nothing. Each life is merely a grain of sand in the ever shifting sands of time. A grain indistinguishable from the rest. A grain that can be found by mere chance, and lost again in an instant.

"They fall in line,
One at a time,
Ready to play,
I can see them anyway,
No time to lose,
We've got to move,
Steady the helm,

I am losing sight again...

Fire your guns,
It's time to run,
Blow me away,

I will stay unless I may...
After the fall,
We'll shake it off,
Show me the way,

Only the strongest will survive,
Lead me to heaven when we die,
I have a shadow on the wall,
I'll be the one to save us all,

There's nothing left,
So save your breath,
Lying in wait,
Caught inside this tidal wave,

Your cover's blown,
Nowhere to go,
Holding your fate,
Loaded, I will walk alone,

Fire your guns,
It's time to run,
Blow me away,
You wanted it back,

Save us all..."

-Blow me away

Though one grain of sand may seem small and insignificant, to another grain of sand it is just as large and just as important; just as 'there'.
One can find a place, not above the world, as Gods, or below the world, as sand, but as what one truly is: something in between, immeasurable.
Lives cannot be measured against existence, and so they are much more important than they seem - they could be large, or small, and every life's perception is different.
